Fussing at ministries, hassle about permits and political games in the coalition has delayed the decision whether Lelystad Airport will open by two years. Will a plane finally land in 2024? That is uncertain because of the still missing nature permit and impending lawsuits. The opening has now been postponed six times and only the municipality of Lelystad itself seems to be confident that it will ever happen.
