The Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has officially handed a penalty to Onana at the 2022 World Cup who reportedly refused the orders of manager Rigobert Song.

This statement was conveyed by FECAFOOT in a press release signed by FECAFOOT general secretary Blaise Djounang and uploaded to the federation’s official Twitter account on Monday (11/28).

FECAFOOT said it supports Cameroon coach Rigobert Song’s decision to remove Onana from the Cameroon squad ahead of the duel against Serbia on Monday (28/11). FECAFOOT said Onana was suspended due to disciplinary issues.

“The Cameroon Football Federation informs the public that following the decision of Rigobert Song, head coach of The Indomitable Lions, player Andre Onana has been temporarily suspended from the squad for disciplinary reasons,” read a statement from FECAFOOT.

FECAFOOT stressed that it supports the decision of Song and all the staff of the Cameroon national team to implement the policies of the federation in order to maintain discipline, solidarity, complementarity and cohesion within the Cameroon team.
