Kiper Andrew Onan he opened the rumor after he was kicked out of the Cameroon national team in which he was competing World Cup 2022 expressing affection for The Indomitable Lions.
Onana was dismissed by coach Rigobert Song from the Cameroon squad ahead of the match against Serbia on matchday two of Group G of the 2022 World Cup on Monday (28/11).
“I want to express my affection for my country and the national team. Yesterday I was not allowed to take the field to help Cameroon, as I always do, to achieve the team’s goals,” wrote Onana in a photo he took uploaded to his Instagram account @ andreonana.24, Tuesday (11/29).
He admits that he always shows positive behavior leading the team to success in a positive way.
The Inter player admits that he has put all his effort and energy into finding solutions to situations that are often experienced by a footballer.
However, according to Onana, there is no willingness to find a solution together on the part of the parties that are at odds with him.
“Some moments are hard to digest,” she said.
Onana admits he has always respected and supported the decisions of the people responsible for the success of the Cameroon national team.
He also admitted that he had given all his strength to his colleagues who had led the Cameroon national team to play the 2022 World Cup.
Onana stressed that he would always prioritize the nation’s interests forever.
“The values that I promote as a person and as a player are what identifies me and what my family has passed on to me since childhood. Representing Cameroon has always been a privilege. The interests of the nation come first and forever.” Onana said.
The Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has officially handed a penalty to Onana at the 2022 World Cup who reportedly refused the orders of manager Rigobert Song.
This statement was conveyed by FECAFOOT in a press release signed by FECAFOOT general secretary Blaise Djounang and uploaded to the federation’s official Twitter account on Monday (11/28).
FECAFOOT said it supports Cameroon coach Rigobert Song’s decision to remove Onana from the Cameroon squad ahead of the duel against Serbia on Monday (28/11). FECAFOOT said Onana was suspended due to disciplinary issues.
“The Cameroon Football Federation informs the public that following the decision of Rigobert Song, head coach of The Indomitable Lions, player Andre Onana has been temporarily suspended from the squad for disciplinary reasons,” read a statement from FECAFOOT.
FECAFOOT stressed that it supports the decision of Song and all the staff of the Cameroon national team to implement the policies of the federation in order to maintain discipline, solidarity, complementarity and cohesion within the Cameroon team.
