Police hold a press conference in the case of the death of Christopher Bobby (24) after fell from the 6th floor of the hotel from Semarang, Central Java, due to being pushed by a friend. The perpetrator, M Alfareandi (23) was presented and conveyed a number of confessions.
“Previously we were like farewell. Then we felt that it was not conducive, the four of us decided to stay at the Grand Candi Hotel, rest. Until then, the deceased continued to take a bath in my turn,” said Alfreandi to reporters at the Semarang Police Headquarters, Wednesday (10/11/2021).
Alfredi then said the victim had peeked while he was taking a shower. At that time, he who was irritated then closed the door hard and hit the victim’s temple until he was injured.
After taking a bath, Alfredi admitted that he sat on the bed and a dispute broke out between him and the victim. According to him, the victim had hit him.
“About the jump (trying to hit), I don’t know the reason. The original victim hit me, I pushed him to avoid falling on him and it turned out to be a glass window. I don’t know why he hit him but there was a little debate about his temple being scratched because of me,” he said.
The Head of Semarang Police, Kombes Irwan Anwar, added that the police initially received information that the victim deliberately ran and hit the glass and fell from the 6th floor of the hotel. However, the Resmob team Semarang Police Station finally revealed the truth.
“Initial information that the victim was affected by alcohol accidentally fell, even at first the information was that the victim had accidentally jumped,” said Irwan.
On the same occasion, Head of Resmob Polrestabes Semarang, Iptu Wendi, said the facts were finally revealed after the police interrogated the suspect.
“At the beginning, the perpetrator had not been exposed, so (the information) was biased. It was conveyed for the first time. We tried to interrogate it, it turned out that the suspect had an urge to the victim,” explained Wendi.
The perpetrator is now charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code or Article 359 of the Criminal Code regarding the crime of murder or because his negligence caused the death of a person with a threat of 12 years in prison.
