In addition to their visit to London, Ghent will also travel to Switzerland to face Lugano. The third away game will be played in Northern Ireland, against underdogs Larne.
In its Planet Group Arena, Gent will host the Norwegians of Molde, the Cypriots of Omonia Nicosia and the Serbians of TSC.
Winner of the playoffs 2 last season, La Gantoise then eliminated Genk in the play-off to secure the last European ticket. The Buffalos eliminated the Icelanders of Vikingur, the Danes of Silkeborg and the Serbians of Partizan Belgrade over three rounds to validate their ticket for the league phase of the Conference League.
Gent have participated in all four editions of the recent competition. In 2022-23, Ghent were beaten by eventual winners West Ham in the quarter-finals.
In this competition, the 36 teams are divided into six pots. Each team will play six matches (three away and three at home) against six different teams (one per pot, including that of the team concerned).
All teams will be included in a single ranking. At the end of the six days, the top eight teams will go directly to the round of 16. The teams between 9th and 24th place will play in knockout play-offs for a place in the round of 16. The teams from 25th to 36th place are eliminated.
Once the round of 16 stage is reached, the competition will return to its classic format with two-legged knockout matches until the final which will take place on 28 May 2025 in Wroclaw.
