At the post-match press conference, coach Szymon Grabowski commented on the match against Jagiellonia Białystok
– I can sum up this match in two words, namely “a big dissatisfaction”. Unfortunately, we don’t take even a point from Białystok, we were close to one, and we could have fought for three. We can also sum up this match with the word “moments”. At first, we had a weaker moment, because we started the first half badly, not the way we wanted. I think that here we retreated too deep and Jagiellonia played the ball quite easily. Then we started to look good, very good, and here I was simply proud of the team, how they built, constructed offensive actions. I was very pleased with how we reacted after conceding the first goal, where a very nice, coherent action ended with a goal. It seemed that everything was working well, when it comes to the second half. We score a goal for 2:1 and at some point we have these weaker moments even before the goal. I think that this is a lesson for us, that we have to be smarter with the ball, eliminate simple losses, but also use the situations that we have. Maybe not 100%, but there were definitely some that could have ended with a goal and this match could have probably been closed. Nevertheless, we also did not use good moves, especially by our striker, when he received the ball behind his back when he ran into the half-spaces and here we also have complaints about ourselves. What happened later hurts us the most, because again we concede goals very easily and lose. Nevertheless, congratulations to the team, where before the match we were doomed to a smooth defeat. We stood up to the Polish Champion, but at the moment it is not enough to take a point from here, so we have to keep working. Big thanks, of course, to our fans, who again very loudly, solidly cheered us on. Unfortunately, again we did not give them, when it comes to the trip, the positives that we all wanted.
On missed opportunities up front and defensive mistakes:
– It’s a pity for everything, it’s a pity for the points above all, it’s a pity that Bujar really had weaker moments and they ended up with a goal or some threats, but here we look at the whole team. We had situations that we should have used. We had situations that we should have solved better. We had situations that we should have defended better at the back, behaved better, secured the front better. So we can say that this pattern from those matches that we lost is confirmed, because I think that this dissatisfaction is comparable and these mistakes were unfortunately also comparable to the previous ones.
