Coney Island businesses unite to distribute food prepared to celebrate Thanksgiving – Telemundo New York (47)

Coney Island, Brooklyn businesses came together to distribute over 1,000 free meals prepared to celebrate Thanksgiving. The annual event is organized by the Coney Island Gospel Assembly that partnered with non-profit organizations and businesses in the area.

The food distribution will take place on Wednesday, November 24 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at La Tombola restaurant located at 2102 Boardwalk West, by the entrance of the corner of West 21st Street. The food is made possible by donations from businesses and leaders in the area such as the Amazin ‘Mets Foundation, a philanthropic arm of the New York Mets, which donated 100 turkeys.



The meals prepared for Thanksgiving consist of turkey, stuffing, and potatoes. In addition, fruits, drinks and desserts will be distributed. All food will be delivered to take away and people must wear masks to pick it up.

“It is an honor to continue our 60-plus-year tradition of serving Coney Island’s most needy and continuing these partnerships. The pandemic has made this event even more important and we are pleased to partner with many stakeholders to bring Coney Islanders a hot homemade meal for the holidays, “said Pr. Constance Hulla of the Coney Island Gospel Assembly. .

In addition to curbside pickup, the Coney Island Gospel Assembly will also deliver family portioned meals to anyone living in the 11224 zip code who is homebound or without transportation. All food is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
