The death of conductor Zubin Mehta is fake news. As explained on Facebook by Florentine May, who denied the news: “The maestro is in Los Angeles, he answered the phone and so far it doesn’t appear that someone who has passed away says ‘hello!’ and have a big laugh. Long, very long life to our beloved master Mehta.” Tgcom24, like many other online newspapers, also made the mistake and apologizes to its readers. The incorrect news, also relaunched by news agencies, was reported by the X profile of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, of which Mehta is director emeritus.
