Concrete achievements to boost the country’s development

Libreville, Friday April 5, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – More than 7 months after coming to power, the Gabonese executive takes stock of its achievements. It was during an exchange with local media that the spokesperson for the committee for the transition and restoration of institutions (CTRI) and that of the government spoke.

The two spokespersons, Colonel Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi, for the CTRI and Laurence Mengue Me Nzoghe Épse Ndong for the government presented in turn the issue of unemployment and the employability of young people, the achievements in the areas of infrastructure, the New information and communication technologies (NICT), transport and housing. And to be completely complete, they spoke about sustainable development without forgetting the significant achievements obtained in the economy – Finance – Agriculture sectors.

Reduction in the unemployment rate and employability

The two spokespersons supported the significant progress achieved, particularly with regard to the employability of young people. According to them, the transitional government has worked to give a worthy direction to the program. ”A taxi, a job, a future,” they argued. Also initiated by the fallen power”. Infrastructures, NTIC, Transport et Habitat

Regarding the achievements obtained at the level of infrastructure, new information and communication technologies (NICT), transport and housing in particular, the spokespersons brandished the adoption of the decree on the guiding schemes of urban development of six (6) provincial capitals: Tchibanga, Oyem, Makokou, the development program for a rehousing site for disaster victims in Mouila, the launch of the laboratory of excellence at the USTM and the rehabilitation of the site of the pan-African station Africa No. 1, to also support with regard to urban roads that 47 km of roads have been laid out with bituminous concrete in greater Libreville.

With regard to NICTs, they noted the establishment of the Gabonese Innovation Center (CGI) which should allow Gabon to have a necessary tool for digital transformation as well as an Economic Interest Group ( GIE), for television broadcasting and universal services, with a view to covering white areas in radio, television, telephone and internet.

Economy – finance – Agriculture and Sustainable Development

The CTRI spokesperson presented the various achievements obtained after two hundred (200) days by the transitional government led by Prime Minister Raymond Ndong Sima. So, on the infrastructure level, he mentioned the launch of a road repair campaign throughout the territory. And speaking of the consolidation of public finances, as well as transparency in the management of budgetary expenditure, the member of the transitional government set out the reactivation of the financial taskforce, and the consolidation of internal and external debt, the creation of FISH and the restructuring of PGIS, the abolition of the opportunity visa, the strategic orientation of public procurement, and the acquisition of the company Assala Energy.

In the oil and environmental sectors, the spokespersons mentioned the submission of a project to finance the strategy on human-wildlife conflict, the adoption of the ordinance relating to the fight against single-use plastic, and the launch of environmental police missions throughout the national territory. Along the same lines, they noted the acquisition and transfer of the stakes of private companies, including 56% of Afrijet, and 35% for the CECA-GADIS group, without omitting the creation of the Bank for Commerce and Entrepreneurship of Gabon (BCEG), and the Society for Construction and Restoration of Public Buildings (SOCOREP).

With regard to employment and the strengthening of administrative capacities, they spoke of the lifting of the freeze on recruitment to the civil service, the relaunch of the examination and competition program, as well as reclassification after internship, the resumption of establishment of the national identity card (CNI), granting of service vehicles to rights holders. All without forgetting the launch of a new airline called Fly Gabon which will strengthen the already existing fleet.
