Concord looks set to go down in history as one of the shortest-lived games-services. Sony has announced that servers will go offline in September and sales will cease.
As we read in the official announcement, the game will be kept alive until September 6, i.e. next Friday. Then the servers will be shut down and the developers will focus on “looking for other options to reach players.”
„While many elements of the game resonated with players’ expectations, we also recognize that other aspects of the game and the launch itself did not turn out as we expected.” – They passed on creators from Firewalk studio.
On Steam we will be greeted with such a message.
At the time of the announcement, the option to purchase Concord had disappeared from the digital platforms Steam, Epic Games Store, and PlayStation Store. If the game was purchased through the PS Store or PS Direct, your refund will be issued using the same method. Customers who made a purchase in other digital stores will also receive a refund” – we read further. Owners of the boxed version should go to the return point at the store where they purchased Concord.
As depressing as it may sound, everyone expected the development of Concord to end soon. The game enjoyed little popularity and had trouble attracting more than a few hundred players at once just a few days after its premiere. According to analysts, the total sales of the game on PC and PS5 were supposed to reach around 25 thousand copies. This is definitely not an enviable result.
