The 13 Hours lets you discover places that have served as the setting for legendary films. Wednesday February 15, direction Massachusetts, in the United States, in the footsteps of the daughters of Doctor March, in reference to the cult film.

Nestled in the majestic forests of New England, the small town of Concord was one of the first American colonies. It also hosted the filming of the adaptation of one of the most famous titles in literature: The Four Daughters of Doctor March, renamed The Daughters of Doctor March at the cinema, in 2019. This book tells the story of four sisters, in the middle of the Civil War, who have to face the difficulties of daily life after the departure of their father to the front.

Stunning late 19th century mansions

Concord always seems frozen in time. An original decor, with its small shops and superb mansions from the end of the 19th century. One house, moreover, particularly charmed the director of Daughters of Doctor March, Greta Gerwig. It was Erin Stevens, one of the city officials, who found it. “This old mansion is a very fine example of Georgian architecture, which is very typical of New England. You can see it all over the city”, she explains. To film the indoor scenes, the director was inspired by the house of Louisa May Alcott, unchanged. The house is now a museum.
