The foundations of City Stade were started last week. It was the Guérin company, responsible for building the platform, which began the work.
After having reworked the ground, the earthmoving company will carry out an asphalt coating followed by oil removal from the surface for a total amount of € 31,731. The company will also form a mound of earth to allow the curious to attend sports matches.
Free and open access
The second part of the work, entrusted to the company Transalp, will consist of the supply and installation of the City Stadium equipment costed at € 61,151. “The works will begin on Monday, August 9, for a reception of works in the middle of the month” specified Didier Mabire, deputy mayor in charge of the works.
“We called on a specialized company, experienced in this type of work. The facilities should allow several teams to practice at the same time. The land will be accessible free of charge and open to schools wishing to use it ”.
The elected officials hope to meet the needs and the desire to play sport, especially young people.
Foot, basket et hand
The City Stadium will consist of four basketball backboards on its longitudinal sides and four mini-goals for football. A synthetic grass football stadium with goals for football and handball. Outdoors, on the coated surface, there will also be basketball hoops. The site will also be equipped with benches and garbage cans and the entrances will be near the football goals. The metal structure and vertical slats are in recyclable PVC. “Aware that ball games can cause noise, we have provided acoustic rubber between the slats for the comfort of residents.”
Green spaces will be embellished
This structure will be open to all, provided that the rules which will be displayed inside are respected. During the meeting last month, Jérôme Pasco indicated that the City had to meet the need for recreational activities in this district, which will be done in mid-August with the end of the work on the City Stadium.
Other projects are underway, in particular the beautification of green spaces. The mayor hopes that the City Stade (total cost of € 92,882) will allow young people to have a good time, create social links and that he will participate in discovering sports talents among young and old.
