Concerts: three events in Isère with the Béla Quartet

Two days before the presidential election in the United States, the MC2 of Grenoble organizes a concert special American music this Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. This is the first musical event of the season with the The four Bélaassociate artist of the Maison de la culture Grenoble.

Composed of violinists Frédéric Aurier and Constance Ronzatti, viola violinist Paul-Jullian Quillie and cellist Alexa Ciciretti, the quartet will perform a program mixing classical music, jazz and avant-garde.

We will thus find emblematic figures like Frank Zappa (Black Page #1), Ornette Coleman (Space Flight) or John Zorn (Cat o’nine tails 9′). Without forgetting works by Conlon Nacarrow (String Quartet n°1), by Morton Feldman (Structure 6′), of Ruth Crawford Seeger (String Quartet) or even String Quartet n°1, by Louis Thomas Hardin aka Moondoga blind musician who dressed like a Viking and lived on the streets, describing himself as the celestial tramp of New York. (Prices: 5 to 7 euros).

A second concert at MC2 on January 23, 2025

The Béla Quartet will perform again at the MC2 auditorium on Thursday January 23, 2025, at 8 p.m. During this evening, he will perform a program including the Quartet No. 2 of Brahms, the Quartet No. 3 de Britten and a creation by Francesca Verunelli especially for the Béla Quartet: Go. (Prices: 5 to 29 euros).

Finally, the Quartet will leave on tour in Isère from May 19 to 24, 2025. On the program for this Walk to Béla : workshops, concerts, meetings, discoveries… in connection with the inhabitants. Details of the tour have not yet been revealed.
