During the session, when the concert halls are closed and spectators are not allowed to attend cultural events in person, the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra will offer to watch all the concerts of the festival that took place this summer free of charge.
The concert series “Stars Closer” will be available on the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra’s “YouTube” channel and on the website liepajassimfoniskais.lv.
On Thursday, October 28, at 7 pm, you will be able to watch the concert “Latvian Vocal Chamber Music”, in which Ilze Grēvele-Skaraine (soprano), Rinalds Kandalincevs (baritone) and Agnese Egliņa (piano) will perform.
On Friday, October 29, at 7 pm, pianist Georgy Osokin will give a solo concert “Piano Music by Frederic Chopin”.
On Saturday, October 30, at 7 pm, pianist Reinis Zariņš will perform Johannes Brahms’ Second Piano Concerto with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Atvars Lakstīgala, while soprano Vida Miknevičute will perform world-famous opera arias.
On Friday, November 5, at 7 pm, the orchestra will offer a touching, thrilling, refined and exciting meeting with the music of Georgian master Guy Kanchel and the musicians of the Xylem Trio, who together with the rising Georgian jazz star Lisa Kerezelidze play virtuoso balance .
On Saturday, November 6, at 7 pm, the world-renowned tenor Alexander Antonenko in cooperation with the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra and its chief conductor Gintars Rinkevics will delight with a monumental program of popular opera music.
In March 2022, the Liepaja International Star Festival will take place for the 30th time. It was originally established as the Festival of Pianist Stars by the long-term leader of the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, conductor Imants Resnis, and it has already attracted about 200 famous soloists from all over the world to cooperate with the orchestra.
