Songs by Gundermann: The rope team

Since Andreas Dresen’s film “Gundermann” at the latest, the songs of the “singing excavator driver” have been known to many outside the GDR music scene. When Gerhard Gundermann was looking for a band to bring his CD “Einsame Spitze” live on stage in 1992, he found Die Seilschaft. Together they not only played concerts, but also recorded the albums “The 7th Samurai”, “Breakfast as Always” and “Engel über dem Revier”. Ten years after Gundermann’s sudden death, Die Seilschaft decided to spread his legacy further among the people. In Gundermann’s place is now Christian Haase, who makes songs like “And must you cry” or “Here I was born” sound new and familiar at the same time. In Plauen the rope team is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their album “The 7th Samurai”.

Cool club music: Serpentine

When Serpentin performs, her goal is for the club to transform into an ocean of dancing people, all losing themselves in the euphoria at the same time. That could work well at Atomino, because their indie-electro beats, which can be placed somewhere between moderate and paramore, are like a fever dream. With her distinctive, intense voice, she sings to her self-produced sound about scrapes and noises, stolen hearts and burning feelings. Cool songs that take place between reality and the inner world of emotions.

On an anniversary tour: Turbo State

The North German punk band Turbostaat has been around for 25 years now and the Husumers are using this as an opportunity to play a different full-length album in each city on their anniversary tour. Their record “Vormann Leiss” is on the program at the AJZ Chemnitz, which they recorded completely live with producer Moses Schneider – with the announcement: “It doesn’t matter how you change the tempo in the song, as long as you do it together, that’s it really cool”. And it turned out really cool, including hits like “Harm Rochel” and the beautiful line: “Live more like your mother, just don’t live like me!”
