According to LNSO representatives, the outstanding clarinetist will perform at the concert Guntis Kuzma and the piano quartet Quadra: violinist Arvīds Zvagulis, violinist Pēteris Trasuns, cellist Kārlis Klotiņš and pianist Rihards Plešanovs.
The concert will feature the world-famous German composer and influential music critic Robert Schuman’s Piano Quartet in Mibemolj Major, Op. 47. It sheds light on the light, simplicity and openness of early Romantic music of the early 19th century. It is interesting that in the premiere of 1844, Schumann’s wife, the outstanding pianist and composer Klara Vika-Schuman, sat at the piano, the creators of the concert program point out.
During the concert, the musicians will also engage in a philosophical conversation, playing the German composer Paul Hindemith Quartet for clarinet, violin, cello and piano. Hindemits visited Riga around 1928, but at that time the Latvian public was not widely known for his compositions. Hindemit was a skilled, acclaimed viola player, and although his music is intellectually saturated, it attracts the listener with its unusual colors and vivid expressions.
The new opus of the LNSO resident composer Andris Dzenītis “Clocks fall asleep” is also waiting for the visitors of the concert. The new work was initiated by the musical association “Quadra” and Gunta Kuzma, inspired by long hikes along the Baltic coast, the sounds include both opaque infinity and a warm and familiar sense of refuge.
“The new opus can be considered a mental relative of my second symphony” Warm Wind “. Andris Dzenitis.
The piano quartet “Quadra” is one of the most interesting and visible chamber ensembles in Latvia. All four musicians are among the brightest performers of their generation. The ensemble’s repertoire includes Western European classics, music by Latvian composers of various eras and a number of works by young composers. The ensemble “Quadra” has successfully performed in many Latvian cities. It was nominated for the Latvian Television and Latvian Radio Annual Award “Kilogram Culture” in 2016 and the Grand Music Award 2019.
Tickets for the concert can be purchased “Ticket Paradise” box offices.
