As “Delfi” informs the concert organizers, this will be the first time that the duo will offer their improvisations to a wider audience.

The music created by the duo is improvisation in place and time. It never repeats itself, although it can start with one piece of music. Each composition-improvisation is a unique journey into the world of rhythm, texture, harmony, and also thought. Madara Petersone says: “Piano meditation is music created in the place and time we are in. We start our interplay without talking and go on a musical journey together. to experience this beauty with everyone who wants to fly with us. “

Musicians find that improvisation is also soothing, so it is called meditation, although sometimes peace can carry you in the most tumultuous and colorful waves, which, however, seem absolutely safe. “Rhythm, overlapping rhythmic drawings, rhythm phase shifts and games. The division of texture into many simultaneous layers.

The meeting between Jānis Bergs and Madara Peterson took place at the music evening school “Rīdze”, where Jānis studied composition, but Madara worked as a composition teacher. “That’s how we got to know each other by chance,” says Jānis, “not yet realizing that in the future we will unite in a joint piano duo – a student and a teacher who unites the academic and unaccustomed world of music.”

Madara Pētersone is a composer who has proved herself in the life of Latvian classical music, a laureate of the international Karl Orfa competition, a graduate of the JVLMA composition class. He has collaborated with ensembles “Perpetuum Ritmico”, “Atomos”, “Art-i-Shock”, Aigars Reini, Ilze Reini, Arvīds Kazlauskas, Aigars Raumanis, Spīķeri String Quartet, Piano Quartet “Quadra” and others. Since 2018, he has been playing in the gamelan group “Lindhu Raras” at the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin.

Jānis Bergs isolated himself from the outside world six years ago and began his great life experiment – is it possible to become a pianist, creating his own technique, according to his own rules and without musical education, and progress, springing only from himself, without references from the outside world?

Tickets for the concert can be purchased “Ticket Paradise” box offices.
