On October 30, at 7 pm, a concert “Tchaikovsky and Sibelius” was shown live from the Baltic Symphony Festival organized by the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. The concert was attended by violinist Kristine Balanas and conductor Kristīna Poska. –
In the concert program: Lisa Hirsch’s “Threshold”, Peter Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto and Jean Sibelius’ Second Symphony.
Tchaikovsky’s majesty and emotional breadth are revealed in the Violin Concerto, which will be performed in a joint concert of Baltic musicians in the interpretation of the great Kristine Balana. Atypically introverted Finns, Sibelius called the Second the confession of his soul, but some critics have called it the Symphony of Finnish Independence and heard Beethoven’s great reflection in it. Estonian Hirsch, on the other hand, is slowly, but convincingly, pulling into the world of his Nordic music – even if it is hard to let go at first, in the end he does not want to let it go.
The public media portal LSM.lv offered a live broadcast in cooperation with LMT Smart Television. The live broadcast was also available on LMT Smart TV, in the application “LMT Straume” and on the Internet.
