Concert in London by the Hildegard Ensemble directed by Paola Stivaletta – Piazza Rossetti

New and exciting experience for the girls of the Hildegard Ensemble and director Paola Stivaletta who on Saturday 19 October 2024 were the protagonists of a concert in London in the beautiful Catholic Church of Our Lady Grace & St. Edward (Chiswick High Road).
The event was realized thanks to the great commitment and dedication of the Comboni Missionary Sisters of the London headquarters who accepted the proposal of maestro Paola Stivaletta for a concert of ancient music in their parish and became active and committed for the logistics part.
The program proposed in the evening, including pieces by authors from different historical periods (Laudario di Cortona, Hildegard von Bingen, Montpellier Codex, Cancionero de Uppsala, Thomas Tallis, Orlando Di Piazza, etc.), was welcomed with great interest and attention by the a large London audience attended and showed their appreciation with long and intense applause and requests for an encore: the success of the concert pushed the organizers to renew the invitation for future English performances by the Ensemble.
Moment of emotion, thanks and remembrance for Sister Pia Elisa Di Pietro of Vasto, who recently passed away, who for 37 years provided her service at the London parish of the Catholic Church of Our Lady Grace & St. Edward.
The Hildegard Ensemble, directed and founded by Paola Stivaletta, is a group with equal female voices (Paola Stivaletta, Daniela Belfiore, Sara Cicioni, Martina Di Bussolo, Clara Lizzi, Serena Menicucci, Elisa Zinni) and is part of the female section of the Choir Stella Maris Polyphony of Vasto.
The group bears the name of Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179, Christian mystic, Benedictine abbess and scholar, expert in philosophy, musical composition, biology, medieval literature, cosmology, medicine, biology, theologian and natural history).
