What is the most extreme thing you have done in your life?
Which is extreme, right? Surrendering your life to Christ is probably considered extreme at all times. But today, my participation in the home births of my children would seem extreme to some. Still others might find it extreme that I never ate and still don’t eat meat.
One of the most touching moments in life…
Baptism. Marriages. Childs birth. Celebrating the life of the deceased. These are the most touching moments because they are the most important moments.
What inspires you to work?
That my work has value in this world and that it can also serve as a signpost to the next.
What are your healthy habits?
Drink water and avoid excessive alcohol consumption.
What are your bad habits?
Drinking coffee in the evening and then not being able to fall asleep. Scroll through Facebook and sometimes Instagram. Avoid doing the most important things with the half-important things. Not being able to maintain physical and mental disciplines for more than a certain period of time. And these are just a few of the first things that come to mind.
What is the most valuable lesson learned in life?
That I am dust touched by God.
A book or movie that you would recommend to others to see/read.
The Bible, of course. And better sooner than later.
What music do you listen to?
I listen to what I play and I play what I listen to. But I relax, either listening to the music of nature or simply being in silence.
What has been your craziest, most spontaneous purchase?
Ah, but this one doesn’t really apply to me! Because I carefully consider every thing I’m going to buy – whether I need it, whether the price is appropriate, what the competitors are offering, etc. That’s why I rarely buy anything because I know it will take a lot of time. Spontaneously, I happen to buy chips and Kokmuiža non-alcoholic beer.
Place and time in which you would like to live.
I accept with gratitude the “here and now” that has been given to me, yes. But at the same time, I also long for the reality promised in the Bible, which will be revealed at the end of history, and I try to hasten its arrival as much as I can.
