On September 23, a concert “Latvian Composers Through the Ages” is expected in the concert hall “Latvija”, where the Festive Symphony Orchestra and soloists will perform compositions by the most outstanding Latvian musicians, playing both the piano “470i” and the organ, the concert hall representatives informed.
The program includes works created by the brightest speakers of academic music of their time – Emīls Dārziņš, Marģers Zariņš, Imants Kalniņš, Imants Zemzaris, Raimonds Tiguls, Jēkabs Jančevskis. The best-known compositions for symphony orchestra, organ, piano, soloists and choir by these outstanding composers will be performed by the best Latvian musicians, soloists and choir artists. There will also be lesser-heard opuses, as well as brand new premieres of instrumentations created especially for this concert.
The concert program “Latvian Composers through the Ages” will be performed by the mixed choir “Ventspils” (artistic director, conductor Aigars Meri), mixed choir “Sōla” (conductors Laura Štoma, Arturs Oskars Mitrevics), Festive Symphony Orchestra, soloists of the Latvian National Opera soprano), Andžella Goba (mezzo – soprano), Rihards Mačanovskis (bass baritone), as well as pianist Agnese Egliņa, organist Aigars Reinis and guitar virtuoso Mārcis Auziņš. The event will be hosted by Latvian National Theater actor Jēkabs Reinis. Director – Valdis Pavlovskis.
