Concert for peace and inclusion offered in Tijuana

Mexicali, BC. The Baja California Orchestra and the Tijuana Opera Choir offered the concert “UWA-Casa, for peace and inclusion” to people in a mobility context, conducted by Armando Pesqueira and music by Gabilondo Soler, a composer recognized as heritage intangible of Mexico.

This orchestra was founded 34 years ago by migrant musicians from Russia who settled in the entity, recalled the Secretary of Culture, Alma Delia Ábrego Ceballos.

We see in each migrant the possibility of knowing a different culture, a different language, different lifestyles and visions, which makes us stronger and more resilient, Ábrego said.

Through the State Music System, peace and inclusion are promoted with the purpose that the population in a context of mobility, refugees and reception, of all ages, enjoys a high-level cultural spectacle for free.

The concert was held at the Baja California Multiservice Center ″Frontera Solidaria″, in the Castillo neighborhood of Tijuana, which provides free comprehensive care to refugees, people in mobility, and the local community.

Cri Cri’s music transported the public to one of the most important features of Mexican culture and, in his case, to childhood memories.

Along with this concert, the State Music System joined the collective efforts of COMAR, UNICEF and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to carry out cultural actions, under criteria of inclusion and recognition of diversity , to girls, boys and adolescents in the context of mobility.

In parallel, the musical initiation workshop is held at the Frontera Solidaria center.

Meanwhile, the Río Nuevo Children’s and Youth Symphony Orchestra commemorated its 13th anniversary with the concert “A magical journey through music” within the Children’s Festival, Exploring the Arts at the State Theater.

This orchestra, founded in 2011, is made up of musicians between the ages of eight and 17, which represents a pillar in the region’s cultural scene as it promotes musical education in the community and offers a space for the development of skills and talents.
