The musicians and singers of the University of Chichester are students destined to be professionals later.

The messe from Requiem in d minorfrom Wolfgang Amadeus Mozartcomposed in 1791, is a work from the last year of Mozart’s life. It is not entirely by Mozart’s hand, but it nevertheless remains one of his major and emblematic works.

The poetic texts and the musical basis of Carmina Burana come from a medieval manuscript discovered in 1803 in a German monastery. Carl Orff gathered some of these songs and gave them a unity, harmonized them and orchestrated them.

In addition to these two concerts, the students of the University of Chichester will offer 2 free concerts:

– May 18 at 12:30 p.m.: a capella concert of sacred music at the cathedral.

– May 19 at 6:00 p.m.: jazz concert on the Place des Halles.
