On the 1st, the Small Business Federation urged telecom operators such as LG U+ to come up with countermeasures, claiming that small business owners suffered damage due to Internet access failures in the New Year.

Sogong-gong issued a statement on the same day, saying, “I express serious concern about the communication failure of key telecommunications operators that have received government permission.”

“On the 29th of last month, there was a failure in the LG U+ communication network, so small businesses using this communication company experienced Internet access problems several times a day,” said Sogong-gong. A problem has occurred,” he said.

So Gong-gong said, “Card payment was blocked due to communication failure, delivery orders could not be accepted, and in the case of PC cafes, consumers left their seats, resulting in great losses.” The telecommunications service providers, who should show a responsible attitude, are hiding behind the terms and conditions and ignoring the damage,” he criticized.

“In the non-face-to-face era, in a situation where a communication network is essential for orders and payments for small business establishments, repeated communication failures have an absolute adverse effect on sales,” he urged, “we urge the preparation of comprehensive measures against repeated communication failures.”

On the 29th of last month, LG U+ had internet access failures twice, at 2:00 am and 6:00 pm. Each lasted about 20 minutes, and LG U+ said, “It seems to be a failure caused by a DDoS attack.”

As the second failure occurred in the evening, when it would be crowded with customers during the holidays, credit card payment was not accepted at supermarkets and restaurants, causing confusion.
