According to witnesses, the cyclist, who wanted to cross, was not seen by the truck that turned. Despite attempts at resuscitation, the woman did not survive the collision. Several residents react shocked to the accident: “I am very sorry, I cannot sleep because of something like that.”
Danger
Where, according to the municipality, the intersection is not a so-called black spot, according to local residents it is indeed dangerous. Both cyclists and motorists will receive the green light at the same time. ‘When you turn you have to look very carefully to the right and really wait.’
According to them, the situation could be made clearer. ‘I have also thought about it, but it should be better pointed out that both traffic lights will turn green, ‘says one of the residents.
The intersection where the accident took place is also often busy. Commuter and work traffic is abundant, as are the students of Marcanti College who have to go to school. ‘There are also a lot of trucks because the Food Center is of course located here, it is just terrible, ‘said one resident.
Reversed
People from the neighborhood have also experienced dangerous situations at the intersection. For example, a local resident says: ‘So I also experienced the other way around that as a motorist I really did not see a boy, I was frightened wildly. ‘
The police are still investigating the exact cause of the accident.
