Pangandaran News, (harapanrakyat.com), – A number of residents and youth in Pangandaran Regency planted mangroves in Nusawiru Village/Cijulang District, Pangandaran Regency, West Java, Sunday (12/19/2021).
The planting was initiated by the Pangandaran Champion Indonesia Foundation (YPJI) in collaboration with the Nusawiru forest farmer group, Gaja Pangandaran, the Young Fighters and the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs.
Rian Hidayat, one of the foundation’s administrators, said the planting aims to minimize erosion and abrasion in coastal areas.

According to him, the function of the mangrove forest is to deposit mud at the roots.
In addition, it can also prevent and reduce erosion on the ground surface due to sea waves.
“This activity is also a form of appreciation for the performance of young fighters on the tasks of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs in Pangandaran Regency,” he said.
Although the task in Pangandaran has been completed, he continued, the spirit of caring for the environment will never stop.
