In the context of the growth of coronavirus infections in the Region, the Chamber of Homes and Day Centers of the Province of Buenos Aires expressed concern about the lack of vaccination with the fourth dose of the anticovid vaccine for older adults who reside in these centers.
“Since March we have been demanding from Pami, who is the authority on the matter, the vaccination of institutionalized older adults and we have not had any response,” they expressed from the aforementioned entity in dialogue with this newspaper.
The leaders of the Chamber indicated that they do not know “when they are going to come to apply the vaccines. They have been delaying us, postponing with any type of response for three months now”.
From the sector they added in turn that “we have also applied with the Chamber’s own resources (transfer, storage and application) 3,000 doses of flu and pneumococcal vaccine for institutionalized older adults and workers who care for them. But we have no response from Pami regarding the application of the fourth dose of the Covid vaccine in older adults.
“We do not know what this situation is about, they do not give us any kind of explanation, which is why there is a lot of concern in the sector,” the same sources indicated.
This newspaper consulted Pami sources on this subject, without obtaining a response.
