Cubans on the Island and Florida request information on ten rafters who left on April 4 for the United States from Guanabo, in Havana, journalist Mario Vallejo reported through a video on Facebook.
According to data shared by Vallejo, the group of migrants is made up of seven adults and three minors. They all traveled aboard a small boat called The Trident.
Among the missing would be Alberto Expósito, Anita Landa Méndez and their four-year-old son. The other minors are the young Alejandra Mesa López, 16, and her five-year-old brother who were traveling with their mother. In addition to them, there would be the owner of the boat, identified as Raúl Gregorio Blanco, who was traveling with his partner, Keyli Peña.
“If you have seen this boat or know of any testimony from other people who have arrived and know of something, please post on Facebook or any social network,” Alejandra Mesa López’s father asked from Florida.
Since last October, the US Coast Guard and Customs and Border Protection agents, deployed in Florida, they have intercepted 1,257 Cuban rafters. This figure already exceeds the total numbers in corresponding periods from 2018 to 2021.
