The concern of the French about the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic remains in the majority but has fallen sharply (-10 points), according to an Elabe poll for BFMTV published on Thursday.
According to this survey, 57% (-10 points since August 20) of French people say they are worried about the spread of Covid-19 in France. Conversely, 43% (+11) are not worried.
According to Elabe, the concern is at one of the lowest levels recorded since the start of the health crisis, similar to that reached after the 1st confinement in June 2020, at 56%.
Concern is declining in all categories of the population, and particularly strongly among those 65 and over (59%, -20), executives (50%, -24), intermediate professions (55%, -14) , and in men (52%, -13 against 60%, -8 in women).
On this new school year, a majority of parents (56%) are not worried about letting their children go to nursery or school. Conversely, 44% are worried. The situation was reversed compared to the start of the 2020 school year when the concern was the majority (60%).
Respondents support the idea of compulsory vaccination for caregivers (78%), police officers (75%), teachers (74%). More than two in three French people (67%) are even in favor of compulsory vaccination for the general public, adults and adolescents.
Survey conducted on August 31 and September 1 by internet with a sample of 1,000 people using the quota method.
