Conahcyt and the Italian government sign DCI in scientific and technological matters

As the first official act, Dr. Rosaura Ruíz Gutiérrez, head of the still National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies (Conahcyt), signed a joint declaration of intention in scientific and technological matters with the government of Italy to strengthen the exchange of experiences, projects and joint actions.

The head of the Ministry of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, participated from the Italian government; and, as guest of honor, the Italian ambassador to Mexico, Alessandro Modiano, informed Conahcyt through a statement.

The document states that the joint declaration is given within the framework of the new Executive Program for Scientific and Technological Cooperation 2025-2027 and “has the objective of strengthening collaboration between the scientific and technological research systems of both countries.”

At the same time, it recognizes the importance of collaboration in the matter “to promote sustainable development and socioeconomic transformation, fundamental aspects to consolidate the dialogue between Italy and Mexico, with a view to defining a memorandum of understanding.”

Shortly before, Ruíz Gutiérrez received the direction of Conahcyt (which will soon become the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation) which was under the direction of Dr. María Elena Álvarez-Buylla Roces during the last administration.
