Conagua warns of tropical storm “Ileana”; it will enter Baja California Sur on Friday afternoon

The National Water Commission (Conagua) provides that the tormenta tropical Ileana enters the municipality of San José del Cabo, in Baja California Sur, on the evening of this Friday, so the Government of Mexico He called on the general population to implement preventive measures in the event of the development of this tropical storm, since meteorological phenomenon It could also affect Sonora and Sinaloa on Sunday.

The general coordinator of the National Meteorological Service (SMN), Alejandra Margarita Méndez Girón, reported that at 3:00 p.m. today, Ileana was located southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, and south-southeast of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, and detailed that the system is generating rain in Colima, Jalisco and Nayarit, and clouds in Durango, Sinaloa, southern Sonora and Zacatecas.

The forecast indicates that on Saturday, Ileana could move over the Gulf of California and towards the northern coast of Sinaloa and southern Sonora. On Sunday, the system could have a second impact in Huatabampo and Hermosillo, Sonora, as well as in Novolato and Ahome, Sinaloa. By Monday, Ileana is expected to become a tropical storm. tropical depression or low pressure remains and continues its path over Sonora.

Conagua assures that brigades and teams are ready to intervene in case of emergency and that personnel have been trained for care and recovery tasks.
