It was following the end of their training held at the family home from July 8 to 21 in Port-Gentil that the 6th class of national and international chaplains of Conacce Chaplains decided to come to the aid of the blood bank of the regional hospital of Bendjé which is struggling to have sufficient stock.
“At the blood bank, the reserves are empty, and some blood groups are non-existent. And so, we are here to donate blood.”Ida Flore Maroundou, indicates project manager.
This organization, which is over 20 years old at the global level, has been active for 5 years in Gabon, and intends to focus its action mainly on social issues. It aims to be a partner of the authorities in the prevention and resolution of conflicts.
For Ida Flore Maroundou, “We are here to serve, to support the weakest wherever the need is; the chaplains of Conacce Chaplains will always be present and we will respond to serve.”
The 6th batch of nearly twenty international, national chaplains and justices of the peace of Conacce Chaplains decided, like any other religious organization, to commit to the well-being of populations and nations. This action allowed the blood bank of the regional hospital of Bendjé to receive more than 20 bags of blood of several blood groups. Lacking blood bags, this action comes in a doubtful way to increase a stock that has been limited for months. It is justified by the lack of voluntary donors and the absence of awareness among the populations.
“We have mobilized our members but also people of good will to donate blood because a single donation can save three other lives,” specifies Colonel Lambert Edowiza.
