Comprehensive security law: eighteen people arrested this weekend in Toulouse

Eighteen people were arrested and one person injured on Saturday at the end of the demonstration against the “Global Security” law and the “Teufeurs” meeting that followed in Toulouse. While the declared demonstration took place in a good-natured atmosphere, clashes began shortly before 5 p.m. near the Monument aux Morts (our edition of yesterday). Overflows were first observed at Place Dupuy where four arrests took place. The climate, aggravated by elements decided to do battle with the police, became widely tense thereafter. The police had to use tear gas. Slogans and tags hostile to the police were thrown as projectiles were thrown and trash cans set alight. Exhausted, motorists forced their way while the demonstrators pounded the pavement. A man was run over and picked up by the fire department. His days were not in danger.
