[세계타임즈 = 송민수 기자] Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy smartphone manages the user’s medication intake and hospital medical records at once. The medication function added to ‘Samsung Health’ starting today provides information on medication usage and precautions.
Samsung Electronics announced that Samsung Health will now provide more comprehensive health management functions through an app update starting on the 22nd.
Now with Samsung Health, you can easily manage your medication, check your medical records at a glance, and conveniently record the nutritional content of food. To realize comprehensive health management, Samsung Electronics plans to form partnerships with global leading companies in the healthcare field and provide advanced functions through close cooperation.
Samsung Health’s ‘Medication’ function manages the user’s medication and provides information such as medication usage, side effects, and precautions when taking medication. This update adds a visual search function that automatically adds medication to the medication list when you take a picture of a medication bottle, and a dashboard that displays medication history at a glance.
The medication function has been recording a high usage rate since it was first introduced in the United States last year, with approximately two-thirds of users using the medication function more than three times a week. Following the United States, the medication function will be introduced in Korea and India starting today. We provide more useful information through partnerships with major healthcare companies. In particular, in Korea, we collaborate with the Pharmaceutical Information Service, an organization under the Korean Pharmaceutical Association, to send notifications about drugs to avoid during pregnancy.
Additionally, in the United States, through cooperation with global healthcare data company Elsevier, information on over 960 types of allergies and potential reactions to drugs is provided. In India, we are working with Tata 1mg, a digital consumer healthcare platform, to enable users to conveniently order medications online.
The ‘Health Records’ function, newly introduced in the United States, allows users to easily and conveniently check various medical records collected from hospitals, clinics, and major medical networks on Samsung Health. Samsung Electronics provides health records through a partnership with ‘Bewell Connected Health’, the largest medical network integration platform in the United States.
The health history feature supports proactive treatment and prevention by providing reminders for additional testing or follow-up. Users can also easily check their comprehensive health records, including treatment history, test results, vaccinations, and medication prescriptions. Through this, it is expected that people will be able to better understand their health status and manage it more effectively.
Barcode scanning is newly added to Samsung Health’s food feature. You can now easily record the calories and nutritional content of food, which previously had to be entered manually, with just one shot.
Samsung Electronics provides nutritional information through collaboration with Fat Secret, which has the world’s largest food nutrition data. The barcode scanning function will be available first in the United States and some European countries and will be expanded to other regions in the future.
Samsung Electronics said, “To realize the future of comprehensive health management, we will lead wearable technology innovation and continue to introduce health solutions for daily health management,” adding, “We will solidify the foundation of the digital health platform through continuous development and combine it with Galaxy AI.” “Please pay attention to Samsung Health, which will deliver a more meaningful experience.”
