Director Kim, who visited the Hongseong-gun Field Integrated Command Headquarters, emphasized the importance of preemptive evacuation to prevent casualties, and ordered all available resources to be mobilized to fight forest fires.

Then, they encouraged on-site extinguishers such as the special forest fire extinguishing team and firefighters, and visited resident evacuation facilities to check their preparations. Director Kim requested that the residents do their best to ensure that there is no inconvenience in their lives.

The fire broke out at around 11:00 a.m. on a mountain in Jung-ri, Seobu-myeon, Hongseong-gun. At 1:20 pm, the third stage of forest fire response was issued, and as of 5 pm, 8 buildings including private houses were destroyed, and about 230 residents were temporarily evacuated.

17 helicopters, 74 equipment, and 923 firefighters are mobilizing to put out the fire, but the weather is dry and the wind is strong, making it difficult to extinguish the fire.

On this day, in addition to Hongseong, simultaneous forest fires broke out in Buam-dong (Inwangsan), Jongno-gu, Seoul, Seo-gu, Daejeon, Okcheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do, and Gochang, Jeonbuk.
