Composer Ritmanis nominated for World Film Music Award for Soundtrack for Souls

Latvian composer Lolita Ritmanis, who lives in America, has been nominated for the World Film Music Prize in the category “Audience Choice” for the soundtrack created for the historical war drama “Soul Blower”, Ligita Mieze, the representative of the filmmakers, informed LETA.

She said that the film was also included in the “Fimucinema” section of the Tenerife International Film Music Festival “Fimucite” competition.

According to the representative of the filmmakers, soundtracks for films and television works such as “Joker”, “1917”, “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”, “Hollywood”, “The Morning Show”, “The Morning Show” have been nominated for the World Film Music Award in various categories. Watchmen ”,“ The Two Popes ”and others. The music for the film “Soul Blower” is included in the category “Audience’s Choice”, where film music fans around the world have been able to vote for what they think is the best film music track in the last 12 months.

The World Film Music Awards ceremony has traditionally culminated in the Ghent Film Festival, which will take place from 13 to 24 October this year, and over the years has become a meeting place for film music composers from around the world. This year, adapting to the current circumstances, the 20th music awards ceremony will take place online from the Kinepolis cinema in Ghent on October 24.

The film “Soul Blower” is also included and will be shown in the competition section of the Tenerife International Film Music Festival “Fimucite”, where from September 21 to September 25 films from all over the world will compete in four categories: for best music for feature film, for best documentary score, for the best original score for a short film and the best original song. The Blizzard of Souls will be screened on September 21 as one of four nominees for Best Music Feature Film in the Alex North Award for Best Achievement in Music Written for Feature Film.

LETA has already reported that the film “Blower of Souls” is the most watched film in the history of restored Latvia so far.

Conductor Māris Sirmais and artists of the State Academic Choir “Latvija” have participated in the music recording of the Latvian composer Ritmanis, as well as an orchestra created especially for the film.
