Composer Kārlis Lācis wrote a song with Ziedon / Diena epiphany words

“I wanted to compose not a poem, but an epiphany, the famous one, as if Ziedonis were a singer,” says Kārlis Lācis about the song’s unusual choice of lyrics.

Jānis Aišpuras’ connection with Ziedonis’ epiphanies has been special since his school days. “Inspired by Ziedonis’ epiphanies, I wrote three epiphanies instead of the usual essay in literature class and have received top marks in the subject so far. Now, almost 30 years later, Ziedonis’ epiphanies are returning to my life with a role very important. I am honored to participate in this project and also perform the new song with the words of the iconic epiphany”, admits the performer and arranger of the song Jānis Aišpurs.

At a concert The flower. A bear. Men. songs by composer Kārlis Lāčs are played, performed by artists such as Intars Busulis, Jānis Aišpurs, Renārs Kaupers, Andris Keišs, Artūrs Skrastiņš, Jānis Šipkēvics and Kaspars Znotiņš.

The set designer and concert director is Reinis Suhanovs, with whom the actors Artūrs Skrastiņš, Kaspars Znotiņš and Andris Keišs created the content of the concert. Choreographer – Elina Gedina.

In the concert program The flower. A bear. Men. participating musicians: Jānis Stafeckis – double bass, Artūrs Noviks – accordion, Māris Jēkabsons – wind instruments, Kaspars Grigalis and Ainis Zavackis – percussion instruments, Kaspars Zemītis – guitar and Kārlis Lācis on keys.
