Tørneng tells VG on the phone that it was “an insane boat” on the lake outside the apartment that first aroused curiosity. When they went out to look, they saw that it was superstar Conor McGregor standing on the deck of the boat.

– It was completely surreal to see him, 50-100 meters outside where we live, completely by chance, the boys say.

They say they took their surfboards and paddled over to the boat to take a photo with McGregor.

– I couldn’t say anything, because I was completely in shock, so my friend had to talk to him. McGregor was very nice and with a lot of energy, but since he was with his family we tried to be a bit “laid back”, says Tørneng.

– How did you react when you realized who it was?

– I sent many messages to friends who are very interested in MMA, I was also completely starstruck. My God, it’s really sick!

The two childhood friends asked McGregor if they could have a picture, which he gladly agreed to.

– We said that he had a really fat boat, then he replied that he really appreciated us saying that.

– He was a bit funny too, he joked that we shouldn’t come across the boat, because it would be a very expensive bill, they say with a laugh.

The boat is a Lamborghini 63 speedboat for 3.6 million dollars, which corresponds to approximately 35.6 million kroner.

After meeting McGregor, they suddenly noticed that there were many dark-clad men in dark cars around their apartment.

– There were quite a few guards around the apartment in cars and on their way down to the beach where the boat was, but we understood that it was because McGregor was there, the boys say.

At the moment, Tørneng and Wesche are on initial duty at Madla and Rena camp. When they are on perm they play football for Viking 3.

They are currently on holiday in Mallorca with two girlfriends. They will return home on Wednesday morning.

– It was the last evening now, and this was the only evening we rented surfboards. He is no longer here, but was only here for a few hours, says Wesche.

The two 19-year-olds agree that they have been extremely lucky.
