A few months ago, Britain’s Prince Harry (38) released his autobiography “Spare”, and here he did not skimp on the details of his own life.
In the sensational book, he described fights between his brother Prince William (40) and himself, and told in detail about the time he got his penis frozen.
Startling admission
At the age of 17, Harry also tried cocaine, he admits, and at the same time reveals that he has also tried cannabis and psychedelic mushrooms.
“Of course I had taken cocaine at the time”, says “Spare”.
In an interview with Ttherapists Dr. Gabor Mate opened up the prince further about his drug use. Here, Harry said that cannabis helped his mental health, and he highlighted a number of positive experiences he had with psychedelic mushrooms.
– Cocaine didn’t really do anything for me, it was more of a social thing that definitely gave me a sense of belonging. I think it also made me feel different, which was kind of the point. Marijuana was different, it really helped me, he shared in the interview with Mate.
– Absolutely shocking
The prince’s statements have not gone down well with former “Master of Champions” winner Marco Elsafadi (46), who today works to help young people to a life free of violence, drugs and crime.
Reveals diagnosis
He reacts strongly to Prince Harry’s attempts to “romanticize” narcotics. When asked what he thinks about what signal the prince is sending out to young people, he answers the following to Dagbladet:
– Everyone who works with young people knows that they are in an extremely vulnerable phase, because their brains are in an upheaval.
– Prince Harry is a role model who goes out and romanticizes the use of psychedelic drugs or marijuana. For many young people, it is an escape from a difficult and painful time, and this only makes the road to drugs shorter, Elsafadi continues.

Furthermore, the 46-year-old says that he does not understand how such a high-profile person as Prince Harry has not thought through the consequences more carefully before making these statements.
– For me, it is completely shocking and mindless. Then he does not understand his own role in society, and one would think so, that he who has lived in the public eye for so long is more aware of this.
– It is one thing to be married into a public family. For example, Crown Princess Mette-Marit who married the Crown Prince, and suddenly she became a celebrity overnight and struggled to find her role, you understand it a little better. Mette-Marit has become an exemplary role model.
Less popular than Prince Andrew
– Unbelievably disrespectful
Elsafadi believes Prince Harry should have kept himself too good to direct such a positive focus on narcotic drugs, and rather kept it private.
– After all, he only does circus and theatre, and obviously doesn’t realize that what he does is messing with young people’s lives. So if you’re going to live on the edge of the law, do it privately. You don’t have to make it public. It is so unbelievably disrespectful and an abuse of their role. I know I’m getting pissed off.
Elsafadi points out that this has become a big problem as several celebrities have done the same as the prince. In addition, it has also escalated due to popular TV series that young people watch, where drugs are used.
– Smoking marijuana becomes incredibly cool there. It’s so romanticized and nobody sees the other side of the coin. Nobody talks to the psychiatrist who tells about the 19-year-old who is hospitalized with psychosis because of it. We’ll never know anything about that – because no, it’s not that dangerous.
– Must take responsibility
In front of Dagbladet, Elsafadi emphasizes that this does not only apply to Prince Harry, but also to other high-profile people – including in Norway.
– If you smoke marijuana or grow mushrooms, and you learn that other celebrities give a thumbs up, then it is unbelievably much easier to continue, he says.
Criticized: “Threw him to the lions”
– Must everyone take a little more responsibility?
– Yes, if you are a prominent person first and have chosen to put your head forward, then you must take responsibility for the role you have chosen to take. It is a choice to be in the newspaper, you can choose not to. But you must be extremely careful about what you make public, advises the 46-year-old in conclusion.
