Completed Safety Check: Suspended Bridge over Danube from Brăila – Screws 0.4% Loosened

The National Road Infrastructure Administration Company announces on Saturday that the process of checking all the screws of the safety parapet on the Suspended Bridge over the Danube from Brăila has been completed and, out of a total of 100,000 screws, a number of 401 have been loosened, which means approximately 0.4%, reports News.ro.

“Today the process of checking all the screws of the safety parapet on the Suspended Bridge over the Danube from Brăila (path 1 and path 2) was completed❗️ Out of the total of 100,000 screws, 401 were loosened, which means approximately 0.4% of the total of these elements”, states CNAIR, on Facebook.

In the online environment, several images appeared with loose screws on the bridge across the Danube from Brăila. The Minister of Transport, Sorin Grindeanu, said on Friday that approximately 50,000 screws out of the approximately 100,000 were checked on the Brăila bridge and that 180 screws were found that were not properly tightened.

The minister assured that it is safe to travel on this bridge.
