Central General Hospital (RSUP) Dr. Sardjito straighten information related to 33 patients who died after oxygen central runs out, Saturday (3/7) at 20.00 WIB. RSUP Dr Sardjito confirmed that the patient who died was in a deteriorating clinical condition.
“It is not true that he died without receiving oxygen, but the process of dying was due to his deteriorating clinical condition,” said the Managing Director Dr. Sardjito Hospital, Rukmono Siswishanto, in his statement, Sunday (4/7/2021).
Rukmono explained that 63 patients died from Saturday (3/7) morning to Sunday (4/7) morning. He explained that the patients who died were not only COVID-19 patients.
“Regarding the news that 63 patients died, we can provide further explanation that this number is an accumulation from Saturday morning (3/7/2021) to Sunday morning (4/7/2021) and not only patients using oxygen or COVID only died,” he said.
According to Rukmono, of these 33 patients died after the central oxygen ran out on Saturday (3/7) at 20.00 WIB.
“Meanwhile, those who died after the central oxygen ran out at 20.00 WIB, we conveyed the number of 33 patients,” he said.
He emphasized that the number of patients were not only COVID-19 patients who needed oxygen assistance, but there were other patients as well. Patients who need oxygen assistance, said Rukmono, are still supplied with oxygen cylinders.
“This number of patients are not just COVID patients who need oxygen assistance, but there are other patients as well. Patients who need oxygen assistance are still supplied with oxygen cylinders,” he added.
Previously reported, the Head of Legal and Public Relations of Dr. Sardjito Banu Hermawan Hospital said the number of 63 patients who died was an accumulation from Saturday (3/7) morning to Sunday (4/7) morning. Meanwhile, 33 patients died due to the impact of the oxygen stock crisis.
“From our data (Saturday, 3/7) at 20.00 WIB until (Sunday, 4/7) this morning, 33 patients died, so 33 patients died due to running out of oxygen,” said the Head of Legal and Public Relations of Dr Sardjito Hospital, Banu Hermawan, when contacted by reporters, Sunday (4/7).
