Training starts on June 21 at 4:00 p.m., so the preparation for the new season begins. With head coach Manfred Schmid, who was able to put his team together according to his ideas.

Manfred Schmid: “I am pleased that we have our entire support team. We deliberately took the time to make the selection and are convinced that they all fit our path very well. With Cem, Udo and Lorenz we brought in Austria-Insider, with Andreas a man who worked very successfully in Germany and Switzerland and with Reinhold an ex-Austria-player with whom I stayed in contact over the years and have built a strong relationship of trust. We are already looking forward to finally starting next week. “

Cem Sekerlioglu (42 / Austria / in the picture 2nd from left): Sekerlioglu can look back on 30 years of Austria Wien. He is now in his 31st season with his heart club. The long-time U18 coach missed the runner-up this year only because of the goal difference and ended the season in third place.
The 42-year-old, who also played in the youth team at Austria, already worked as an assistant coach at the Austria Academy in 2002, before taking over the U17 team as head coach for the first time in 2007/08. In his previous 19 seasons as a coach, he has gone through all the academy years and has accompanied around several hundred players on their way.
Sekerlioglu was already with the fighting team as assistant coach in 2014, at that time under Herbert Gager, who took over on an interim basis in February. He has had eleven years as a player from the U7 to the U18 and 19 years as a coach to date.

Reinhold Pitch (50 / Germany / 2nd from right): The German played for FK Austria Wien from July 1996 to December 1997, before that for 1860 Munich and 1. FC Köln, and then for clubs like Eintracht Trier and Wacker Burghausen. After his active career, he switched to the coaching business, worked for Regensburg, again at Eintracht Trier and in all of Luxembourg’s junior national teams (U16, U17, U19 and U21). There he was also employed as technical director for more than ten years.

Udo Siebenhandl (34 / Austria): The goalkeeper coach, who last held this position with the Young Violets and before that also in the Austria Akademie, is a real home grown man, after all, he came to Vienna Austria at the age of 12. There he went from the youth to all academy teams and then with today’s Young Violets all age groups. Then he played at Wr. Neustadt, Waidhofen / Y., Sollenau, Parndorf, Traiskirchen and Neusiedl / See.

Andreas Biritz (35 / Austria / far left): With plenty of experience, athletic trainer Andreas Biritz will also strengthen the team. From October 2019 until recently he worked for the professionals at Eintracht Frankfurt, before that for the women and men professionals at SKN St. Pölten, at Young Boys Bern and in Salzburg also as a physiotherapist and in Grödig in several positions (physiotherapist, athletics – and rehab trainer).

Lorenz Kutscha-Lissberg (24 / Austria / far right): Lorenz Kutscha-Lissberg strengthens Manfred Schmid’s coaching team for game and video analysis. Like Cem Sekerlioglu, the 24-year-old comes from the Austria Akademie, where he has been working in various positions since summer 2019.
