JEMBER, FaktualNews.co – A deadly accident occurred on the Banyuwangi-Jember route to be precise in the Silo sub-district at around 16.30 WIB, Thursday (13/8/2020), allegedly due to a Fuso truck experiencing failed brakes.
From the TKP processing carried out by the Jember Police and Silo Police, it was confirmed that the accident involved a Fuso Truck with a plate of P 8525 UG containing soybeans, 8 motorbikes, and a Colt Diesel Truck Nopol P 9893 K containing mineral water.
The incident, which claimed 5 human lives and caused 5 other injuries, took place at two locations. The first is on Jalan Raya Jember-Banyuwangi KM 22, precisely in front of the Kayu Wijaya Shop, Krajan Hamlet, Sempolan Village, Silo District.
The second location is not far from the first, which is east of the Simpang Tiga Sempolan Village Office, Krajan Hamlet, Sempolan Village, Silo District.

Arriving at Sempolan Market, the truck experienced a failed brake. Right in front of the UD Wijaya wood shop (first TKP) Fuso truck bumped into a Honda Vario 125 motorbike with license plate P 3693 LS driven by M. Muhajir (21), a resident of Ajung District, Jember Regency.

The Fuso truck, which Syaiful could not control, continued to drive west of the Sempolan gas station, Jalan Raya Jember-Banyuwangi, in front of Edi’s Pracangan Shop (second TKP).
Because the road descended, at that location the Fuso truck drove faster and crashed into a white Honda Beat motorbike driven by Susiatun (40) and her son Nursiah Cindy Annuriyah (8), a resident of Krajan Hamlet, RT 003, RW 004, Sempolan Village, Silo District , Jember.
“The mother and child died at the scene,” he continued.
The truck was still out of control until it crashed into a Honda GL Max motorbike with plate plate P 6265 TZ.
“It doesn’t stop there, the Fuso truck is still going fast. Then it hit / hit a Mitsubishi colt diesel truck with a P 9893 K plate on the rear tailgate. That caused the colt truck to overturn, ”said the former Tempurejo police chief.
Tanto continued, explaining that as a result of the fuso truck collision, a colt diesel truck carrying drinking water turned upside down on the shoulder of the road. The Fuso truck was still stretching.
