The French Insurance Federation (FFA), the French Mutuality (FNMF) and the Technical Center of the Provident Institutes (CTIP), the three federations representing complementary health insurance have signed a framework agreement for the management of the “Reimbursement of Organizations” system. Complementaires ”(ROC) this May 18, 2021 and aimed at a generalized application of third-party payment in hospitals.
The system, which will therefore allow policyholders to benefit from a advance waiver of the additional part of health costs in hospitals, will be deployed at the end of the month of June 2021 in public hospitals, before being gradually extended to all establishments (follow-up, rehabilitation and psychiatric care).
According to the three federations, the measure constitutes real progress for all the players concerned:
- for the 96% of French people covered by complementary health insurance, an improvement in the quality of service, with simplified care, better information and application of the third-party payment in the hospitals ;
- for establishments, their hospital staff and for public accountants, simplification and securing of invoicing and collection procedures;
- for complementary health organizations, an improvement in the overall efficiency of complementary third-party payment.
