English fans who were at OAKA yesterday for their national team’s match against Greece made complaints about unacceptable police behavior and poor organization of the match. English media such as Mirror, Metro and Sky Sports broadcast testimonies of English fans who reported how they received very bad treatment from the Greek Police at the Olympic stadium in Athens, claiming that violence and chemicals were used without cause on the sidelines of the match. There have also been reports from fans of poor organization on the part of the EPO, such as the absence of ticket checks. A spokesman for the FA said: “We are aware that some of our fans have had a difficult experience off the pitch and we are gathering more information about exactly what happened.” English reports note that the FA intends to investigate the complaints.
