complaint filed after the brawl filmed between a policeman and a young man

The Bobigny public prosecutor’s office announced that it had received a complaint on Monday for violence by persons holding public authority and racist insults following a fight last week between a police officer and a resident of Blanc-Mesnil (Seine-Saint-Denis). ).

In a video widely shared on social networks, captioned “tete-a-tete (between) a young person vs a baceux from Blanc-Mesnil”, a plainclothes policeman and a young man grapple and exchange blows in a hall of building Monday, April 18.

Two other officials, posted in front of the door of the hall, prevent the inhabitants from entering and ask them to stop filming.

“Racist insults”

“We received the complaint today, which we sent to the IGPN with a view to opening a preliminary criminal investigation,” said the Bobigny prosecution.

An “unjustified” control according to the lawyer

According to the story given by Mr. Bouzrou on the internet, the facts took place when the young man “pointed out to the police officers of the BAC that the control they are doing is unjustified”.

“Result: one of the police pushes him and reacts, (…) he takes off his equipment then locks himself with the youngster in the entrance of the building,” said the lawyer, describing punches and a strangulation attempt. “Clearly the only objective of the police was to let off steam by beating up a young black man,” he accused.

The Paris police headquarters announced in a tweet on Tuesday that it had seized the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN), in order to “establish the circumstances in which the facts shown by these images occurred”.
