Originally the photo idea was different. Christine Hug was supposed to symbolically cut a mask. She would not have been averse , and it would have fit too. Finally, Hug defends itself together with the association «Children breathe easy!» against the mask requirement in schools. The problem was another: Hug didn’t have any masks in the house, as she told the photographer.
So the photo was different, the subject remained the same. At the end of February, the association filed a complaint with the Federal Supreme Court against the Covid Ordinance of the canton of Bern. The point of contention is Article 10, which stipulates that all pupils from the 5th grade must wear a mask. Christine Hug, president of the “Children breathe easy” association, calls the regulation “disproportionate”.
