It is alleged that the complainant, an old woman, was abused by the chairperson of the Women’s Commission, MC Josephine. Ullas, a relative of the elderly woman, told MediaOne that she was forced to appear in person with the bedridden patient. The phone conversation between Josephine and the old woman’s cousin came out.
Lakshmikuttyamma, 89, a native of Kotangal, a border area near Ranni in Pathanamthitta, was assaulted by a drunken neighbor last January. She lodged a complaint with the police but to no avail. Lakshmikuttyamma was directed to go to Adoor for the hearing. MC Josephine was abused in a phone call made by a relative asking him to allow the nearby area due to old age and illness.
