Complaint after death threats against a professor and his son in Marseille – L’Express

The teacher, an English professor at the Rempart-Vinci high school, located in the affluent neighborhood of the 7th arrondissement of Marseille, was informed of these threats explicit par a screenshot of comments posted on Snapchat about a group called +REMPART 5+ and offeringfell him and his son, educated in the same establishment, according to a police source.

The rector of the academy takes this matter very seriously. The teacher filed a complaint and a report was made to the prosecutor by the high school principalthe Rectorate’s communications service told AFP, specifying thata police investigation is underway. Legal protection and psychological support were proposed to the teacher, the same source added.

According to the police source, the teacher reported when filing a complaint thata climate of racism, anti-Semitism, conspiracy and negationism within one of its classes which had led him to react a few days earlier.

At the Republic school, no threat, no attack against a teacher is acceptabledenounced in a press release the president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, Renaud Muselier, saying he stood alongside teachers, the last defenses against conspiracy, racism and anti-Semitism.
