Hyundai and Kia were already in second place in terms of global electric vehicle deliveries, with the exception of China, in January-May this year, with a combined market share of 13.5%, which was the second after Tesla, 22%, according to research firm SNE Research.
The Ioniq 6 will be priced between 55 million won ($ 41,949.51) and 65 million won for the South Korean market.
“Ioniq 6 will be able to compete with Tesla in the standard electric sedan sector, given its competitive price and long driving range,” said Lee Jae-il, an analyst at Eugene Investment & Securities.
