31 december 2021 – Joey Veerman (23) would like to make a transfer during this winter. The sc Heerenveen midfielder is in the interest of Feyenoord, among others, but is also realistic that a switch is nevertheless not a certainty in the winter break. “We’ll see what will happen these weeks. I’m very relaxed about it.”
“There is a lot of interest,” the playmaker continues in the Leeuwarder Courant of the Frisian club. But that was no different in the summer and there was no transfer at the time. “The ball is in Heerenveen. Just like six months ago. Of course I was disappointed this summer when the transfer did not come. But on the other hand: I signed my contract with Heerenveen myself.”
And so Veerman decided to stop whining and calmly continued to play football in the Abe Lenstra Stadium. Nevertheless, he will always be honest when asked about his current (transfer) situation. “I have always given my opinion very clearly. I got it from my mother.” He is also sometimes hard and clear in interviews after matches and it appears that the native Volendammer is annoyed.

“That’s because I demand a lot from myself, but also from others. That’s why I’m not always an easy boy during the matches. But conversely, I also understand that players are annoyed by me if I give balls that they do not understand”, said the honest midfielder, who, despite everything, still has a good time in Friesland. “You also have to cherish what you have. That’s what I do here.”
